Andrea suggested me to write about myself to introduce me to the community and although you can read my formal introduction in my profile, I wanted to share with you some thoughts.
We have so much to learn from Nature. Nature always communicates to those who are willing to listen. Sometimes it will communicate through a singing bird, through a flowing river, through the blowing of the wind and sometimes metaphorically through the cyclical falling of the leaves of the trees.
Observing the leaves fall, I realize there is so much we can learn from it. Society has taught us who we should be. Parents, schools and society shaped my beliefs on who I was. I lived that way for many years, until one day everything crumbled…
My sense of self was shaken and I started to have all these questions about myself and what my life in this planet meant.
The beliefs were so engrained in me that, when shaken, I was left in a void. Up to this point my job, nationality, relations and friends defined me. But if I was not those, who was I?
As humans we focus on becoming, but I learned to just be. And it was in the long hours of silence and introspection that I found myself. Like the falling leaves of a tree we have to unbecome to become. Nature renews itself every season, every falling of a leave, every flowing river, so should we.
How has Nature helped you get to know yourself better? / come ti ha aiutato la Natura a conoscere meglio te stesso?
P.S. Feel free to write your comments in Italian (I understand)
